Wireless Systems and Networks (EWSYS)
Topics include presentation of modern wireless systems and networks, standards, network architectures, physical layer and applications.
First part of the course is dedicated to fundamentals of telecommunication and covers basic wireless transmission issues. Radio channel characteristic, transmission techniques (modulation, coding, multiple access) used in wireless systems are described.
Next parts are related to wireless networks implementation. Systems architecture, technical specifications and applications are described. Description starts with Wireless Personal Area Networks, then Local Area Networks, Metropolitan and Wide Area Networks are discussed. First, second and third generation cellular systems are presented in WAN section.
Last part of the course concentrate on satellite communication. It contain basic information about satellite transmission and review of main applications. Broadcasting system, navigation and mobile systems as well as VSAT networks are presented.
